There upon the shoreline Stood two hearts held hand in hand Contemplating waters That they’ve yet to understand
But materials they’ve gathered And have brought to build on shore Must resist the salty seas That will test their strength and more
While the promise they were making Was to keep each other strong Because sometimes stormy waters Makes the journey dark and long
And at times that they’ll be finding Just how long each one can hold The teaching they…..
They put him to sleep On a ship bound for mars And all that he knew Came within those locked bars
They put him to working On a task that was new ‘Report back to earth All the things that we do’
They put him to viewing Across the networks of air Which woke people up To the plight he must stare….
He went back to dreaming As alarms will say “Rise” To return to his suit- Or ‘TV’…..
His suicide announcement Didn’t effect me like I thought From what I know of ‘darkness’ It can spread to those with not
Masks we seem to carry Because our heart can’t help but care But the mind gets overloaded With the things they know ‘out there’
As war is never pretty In the home or foreign shore —Is it desperate for awareness? Or a lesson – then no more???
But pain that’s buried with you Will leave a place for…..
